In addition, we have a formal evaluation process that enables the firm to monitor associate performance, help to develop associates’ strengths, and address any areas of concern. We articulate our expectations of associates at various levels of seniority and experience in our Attorney Development Framework.
Every associate receives at least one formal, written evaluation each year. Associates provide the evaluating partners with specific information regarding recent work and contributions. A more informal evaluation process is sometimes used in the middle of the first year for new attorneys, including lateral associates.
