I’d been in the government for a total of nine years, and it seemed like the right time to move back into private practice. MoFo was incredibly attractive for several reasons. The principal reason was the opportunity to work closely with Deanne Maynard, who has a terrific reputation among people in the Solicitor General’s Office, as well as veterans of that office. I also was very attracted to the collaborative team culture at MoFo. That’s something that I valued in my government experience: the sense that everyone is in the boat pulling the oars in the same direction to achieve a good result for the client. That was something that I was looking to replicate as much as I could in private practice, and MoFo was by far the best choice for me.
