Every Voice Is Heard

Mansfield

Morrison & Foerster believes that the attorneys who advise and represent our clients should be as diverse as they are. We place a high value on the varied perspectives, backgrounds, and ideas that our attorneys offer when it comes to serving our clients, colleagues, and communities.

We’re certain that you’ll find numerous ways to connect with a diverse group of legal professionals through networking events, speaking engagements, affinity groups, community engagements, and pro bono initiatives. Our priority will always be fostering an inclusive workplace where every story matters and every voice is heard.

Putting Allyship into Action

As a firm, Morrison and Foerster stands against racial injustice. In the spirit of our shared commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion, our “Allyship Is Action” campaign highlights the viewpoints of our attorneys and staff on this topic. This is just one of many initiatives launched by the firm amplifying the various ways that we can take action and be effective allies. Fostering a More Inclusive Workplace

Additionally, each spring, as part of the firm’s Diversity + Inclusion Roadshow, diverse, LGBTQ+, and women lawyers visit law schools throughout the United States to engage with students and share their journeys to becoming lawyers and why they ultimately chose MoFo. The firm also sponsors pre-law interns through the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) program, providing educational and career programs to students from underrepresented communities to ensure their professional success.

Preparing Attorneys for Their Next Chapter

MoFo is dedicated to helping the next generation of diverse, LGBTQ+, and women attorneys grow professionally and personally. The firm’s Diversity Strategy Committee (DSC) supports a variety of internal programs and groups for lawyers and staff, from mentorships and sponsorship initiatives to ongoing training and networking opportunities. To foster ongoing peer engagement and connection, the firm has established 37 affinity groups aimed at supporting diverse, women, and LGBTQ+ attorneys, in addition to working parents.

Since 1999, the firm has hosted its biennial Diversity Summit, which includes professional development workshops designed for our U.S.-based diverse, LGBTQ+, and women associates. To ensure that all of our associates can attend the two-day program, the firm covers transportation costs to the selected location. The Diversity Summit program features professional development workshops, diversity-related trainings, and informative speaking engagements, all designed to give junior attorneys a space to network professionally and to build important firm relationships.
