    • Hong Kong

      Who Should Apply

Our Hong Kong Summer Internship Program is open to penultimate-year students who are on course for at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and who are looking to secure a training contract with us within the same recruitment year (to start work upon completion of the PCLL). Your pre-university studies should also reflect this high standard of achievement.

The Trainee Program is open to those who have achieved or are on track to achieve the same high academic standards as described for interns. We aim to recruit our trainees from candidates who complete our summer internship program, but will also accept applications from others.

All applicants should be fluent in English and Mandarin, with the ability to read and write Chinese.

      When to Apply

Summer intern candidates should apply by end of January of their penultimate year, but we will continue to accept applications until vacancies are filled.

Like most other firms in Hong Kong, we typically select trainees two years before they start work with us, so those who are studying law should apply in their penultimate year. Applicants who have not completed a summer internship at MoFo are encouraged to apply between April and June, but we will continue to accept applications until vacancies are filled.

      How to Apply

Please email your detailed résumé together with your latest transcripts, International English Language Test, high school public examination results, and a cover letter to Katherine Fan, Attorney Recruiting Manager, China & Singapore at AsiaGradRecruit@mofo.com. (No agencies, please).

BEFORE YOU INTERVIEW

  • Accommodating Your Interests

If you’re invited to the firm for an interview, we encourage you to be open about any areas of special interest. We’ll work with you to schedule the mix of attorneys or staff to best help you with your questions about Morrison & Foerster. You may want to explore specific areas of our practice, or to speak to women lawyers, lawyers of color, lawyers with a disability, LGBT lawyers, or new associates, partners, or staff. Please do not hesitate to tell the recruiting staff member scheduling your interview if you have any specific interests.

  • Avoiding Conflicts of Interest

In an effort to avoid any potential conflicts of interest during the interviewing process, please advise the recruiter scheduling your interview of any legal matters on which you’re working, or on which you have worked, that are adverse to our firm’s representation. If you are a judicial clerk, please seek permission from your judge prior to interviewing with us.

  • Special Needs

If you have any special needs that you would like us to accommodate, such as wheelchair access, a hotel room for nonsmokers, or special dietary needs, please tell our recruiter and/or travel agent.
